Know Your Roots
Let’s figure out why your hair has changed

If your hair has been thinning, shedding, or just feels off, and you don’t have clear answers yet, you’re in the right place.
It can feel confusing, isolating, and even a little scary. Every shed strand becomes a question you can’t answer, and trying product after product without clarity only adds to the stress.
Is Know Your Roots Right for Me?
Know Your Roots is designed for anyone who has noticed a change in their hair or scalp and wants to better understand why it's happening before jumping into treatment.
You may benefit from an evaluation if you're experiencing increased shedding, gradual thinning, a widening part, changes around the hairline or crown, scalp discomfort, changes after pregnancy or weight loss, or hair changes associated with perimenopause, menopause, medications, illness, stress, or nutritional concerns.
Sometimes what looks like “just thinning” can also show patterns that deserve medical evaluation. If I see something concerning for an inflammatory or scarring hair-loss condition, I'll explain what I'm seeing and recommend the appropriate next step or referral.
Let’s get to the root of what’s going on. Literally.
Know Your Roots is a one-on-one hair and scalp evaluation with Board Certified Trichologist Christine McMillan at Scalp Garden in Buford, Georgia. It’s designed for anyone experiencing hair thinning, excessive shedding, patchy hair loss, changes in density, or scalp discomfort, as well as anyone who simply feels like something has changed and wants to understand why.
You’ll have a full hour of my focused attention. We’ll talk through your hair and health history, look closely at your scalp and follicles with high-magnification imaging, and evaluate the patterns and clues that may help us better understand what’s happening.
From there, we’ll put the pieces together and create clear next steps based on what we find. And if I see something that warrants medical evaluation or falls outside my scope, I’ll explain why and help point you toward the appropriate type of provider.
The goal isn’t to guess or throw products at the problem. It’s to leave with a better understanding of your hair and scalp, what may be contributing to the changes you’re seeing, and what makes sense to do next.

What will I see?
Instead of guessing with products that may or may not work, we finally get answers you can see on screen. No more wandering in the dark. I will use a trichoscope (a high-magnification imaging tool used to closely examine the scalp and hair follicles) to see what you have going on in your hair and scalp. In addition to visual analysis, it measures temperature, moisture levels, and VOCs. These things you could never detect on your own so we finally have insight as to if your scalp is working for you or holding you back
What can it tell us?
The short answer... a LOT!
Some questions we'll answer:
-
Is your scalp balanced and happy?
-
How many hairs per square cm?
-
What is the quality of these hairs?
-
Are the routines you're using working for you?
-
Are there early signs of Androgenetic Alopecia?
All this information gets pulled into a report mapping out where you stand. Armed with this information, you can make informed decisions for yourself.
Do I get a copy of the report?
You bet! This isn’t just information. It’s the moment things start to make sense. Instead of leaving worried and guessing, you’ll have clarity, a plan, and the confidence to take back control of your hair and your health
